Free Paper Castles and Other Items
By Allan Zieser
After attending the last CRGCon
at the Marion Library in Marion Iowa, I decided to put together some paper dungeons
and castles that you can use for your pen and paper games as well as for many
other uses. If you need a great gaming system to play with be sure to check
out The Basic Fantasy
Roleplaying Game Website . Chris Gonnerman's great fantasy rpg is a great
way to play. His system is still in beta, so be sure to check his site often
for updated rules.
These files are free to use, but be sure to give credit to me and my site when you use them. Also if you would send me an email to Allanzieser@hotmail.com to let me know that you are using them and how they work for you I would be grateful.
These models are built using the Z-fold system that I came up with. This system of folding and gluing the models make them sturdy and also provide a floor for hallways and rooms in one solid piece. I suggest printing them out on card stock as this is what I designed them for use on and this seems to provide the best results.
In the file below there is a tutorial sheet that has the folds marked as to where they should be folded. Just remember that a valley fold means you are forming a valley shaped fold folding the scored area of the card stock down and a mountain or peak fold means that you are folding the card stock up forming a peak of a mountain. These are the only two folds you need to know. There is a detailed sheet explaining the process. I will post some photos later on as I am still working on the design.
The first file I am posting is the Wizards Gate Keep, this is sort of a different design that I was working on for testing the system, it includes several floors and a riser. I will be posting a more traditional castle later on that has stairs in the design.
Later on this month I may post my futuristic mech buildings and landing pad set that I created a couple of years ago this set is very detailed and will require a lot of ink.
Anyway back to the present, the Wizards Gate keep is a work in progress so if you have any suggestions please let me know and I will try to incorporate them into the system if possible. I will be creating some stairs, ramps and other items for use in the system. This is a basic set created with the intention of getting you the basic pieces for use in your games.

Newly added, Zorloff's Castle:
This castle system includes several different hallway floor designs and a new better looking brick design. Also included you will find a staircase model and a fireplace. I still need to make more floor tiles for rooms and some pillars to set in the middle of the rooms. Also later on I will be adding some furniture in a new file for your use as well!

To build this set you will need the following:
Razor Knife
Cutting Mat
Straight Edge for Cutting
A glue stick or rubber cement for gluing the pieces together.
A folding bone, if you have one, for the creases
Plenty of Ink for your printer and lots of time to play with the sets.
A camera to take photos of your creations for posting on this site!!
Have Fun and I will update this later on.
Allan
